What’s in the water at Eastwood?!

What’s in the water at Eastwood?!

Hole-in-One’s are one of golf’s rarest and most celebrated achievements — yet this year, Eastwood has seen an incredible run of them. Whether it’s the condition of the course, a touch of good fortune, or perhaps something in the water, there’s no denying it’s been a remarkable season for aces at the Club.

Adding to the growing list, we are pleased to recognise Nathan Gardner on his fantastic Hole-in-One on the 14th hole, striking a 9 iron to perfection. Not only is this Nathan’s first ever ace, but it came on one of the course’s more challenging holes, with its elevated green and limited visibility, making the achievement all the more impressive.

A terrific moment on the course — well done Nathan!

Junior Girls Scholarship Program at Eastwood

Junior Girls Scholarship Program at Eastwood

Eastwood is proud to have received funding from the Australian Golf Foundation to deliver the Junior Girls Scholarship Program, designed to encourage more young girls to develop a lifelong connection with golf.

The program supports participants beyond the introductory stage, helping them progress towards obtaining a handicap while building confidence, skills and friendships along the way. As part of the scholarship, the girls become Eastwood members and attend up to 24 coaching clinics throughout the year.

Term 1 is already well underway, with three sessions completed so far. Clinics take place on Tuesday evenings and Saturday afternoons, with Saturday sessions followed by a 6-hole Ambrose, giving the girls a great chance to get out on the course and enjoy the game.

The program is led by our Junior Coach Ryan Isherwood, with Lucy Carter-Dams assisting as a community coach and positive role model.

With 19 girls enrolled, Eastwood currently has the second-highest participation in the state for the AGF Junior Girls program.

If you see our junior golfers out on the course, please say hello and give them a little extra patience as they learn and enjoy the game we all love.
